ITS Construction are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Mechanic to join a busy and well-established operation based in Avonmouth. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled heavy vehicle mechanic looking for long-term, stable work within a professional and supportive team.
You will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing a fleet of heavy goods vehicles to ensure they remain safe, compliant, and operational at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance on HGVs
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and carry out repairs efficiently
- Conduct safety checks in line with DVSA standards
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within required timeframes
- Work in line with company health & safety procedures and workshop practices
- Assist with breakdown response and urgent repairs where required
Requirements
- Proven experience working as an HGV Mechanic or HGV Technician
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, braking systems, hydraulics, and vehicle electrics
- Ability to diagnose faults using both manual inspection and diagnostic equipment
- NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent (desirable)
- Full UK driving licence (HGV licence advantageous but not essential)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
