Corporate Fundraiser

The role will include prospecting, approaching and securing support from Trusts and Foundations. Support fundraising with proposals, reporting and ongoing communication with corporate partners. Secure both annual and long‑term financial targets. Assist internal and external communication, fundraising and development activities including events.

Main duties:

  • Identify new Trusts and Corporate partners for potential sources of funding and write targeted proposals to secure money to achieve the fundraising target.
  • Sustain and increase income from existing Trust and Corporate donors, including research, development and production of proposals, follow‑up reports and acknowledgment.
  • Manage a portfolio of small–medium Trust and Corporate donor relationships and a trust programme. Research and cultivate new donors with a particular focus on medium‑large ones.
  • Meet monthly research targets as outlined in conjunction with the Head of Fundraising.
  • Meet monthly submission targets to existing and prospective Trust/Corporate donors.
  • Maintain and develop personal contact with Trusts and Corporate potential donors by telephone, in writing and face‑to‑face to ensure long‑term support and commitment to the work of the organization.
  • Attend any external meetings with members of the fundraising team, as well as networking events.
  • Takes responsibility for effective and efficient research and information gathering on projects and developments; for timely communication of this information to current trust and corporate donors as part of a rolling programme of regular grant applications and reports to UK‑wide donors.
  • Develop and maintain rapport with frontline project staff and managers to gain up‑to‑date awareness of the work of the organization and information that will inform funding proposals and reports.
  • Help source and manage any Trust, Corporate & Events Team volunteers working in Central Office.
  • Maintain effective computerised and manual administrative systems including the CRM Donorfy to ensure accurate records and data is held.
  • Work jointly with other members of staff to help organise and deliver events, in‑house conferences and other functions as required.

Experience:

  • Significant experience of securing donations from Trust and/or corporate donors in a small or medium sized charity or directly comparable skills from another area of employment.
  • Experience of using a fundraising database, particularly Donorfy.
  • Experience of managing targets of over 500K and individual donations over 50,000.
  • Experience of reporting to donors using both quantitative and qualitative measures.
  • Experience of turning donors into long‑term partners and maximising their contribution.
