Overview: We are seeking an experienced ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) Consultant / Project Manager to lead the design and implementation of ESG strategy and frameworks across the UK operations of a global organisation. This role will play a critical part in aligning the business with emerging ESG expectations, regulatory requirements, and internal sustainability goals. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across Compliance, Legal, HR, Operations, and Procurement to embed ESG into both strategy and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver the ESG programme for the UK entity in alignment with global ESG objectives and local regulatory standards
- Conduct current-state assessments of ESG maturity and identify gaps and opportunities
- Define KPIs, reporting frameworks, and performance metrics aligned with ESG goals
- Lead stakeholder workshops and drive engagement across all levels of the organisation
- Support sustainability reporting and ensure compliance with evolving legislation (e.g. CSRD, TCFD, SECR)
- Collaborate with internal teams (HR, Legal, Procurement, Facilities) to embed ESG principles into policies and operations
- Work with external advisors and auditors where required to support ESG assurance
- Track project timelines, milestones, and risks to ensure successful delivery.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience delivering ESG strategy or projects in large, complex organisations
- Strong understanding of ESG regulatory frameworks (UK & global), standards and reporting tools (GRI, SASB, TCFD, CSRD)
- Experience designing and implementing ESG policies, governance structures, and engagement strategies
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with confidence engaging senior leadership
- Strong project management capability with a track record of delivering ESG or sustainability initiatives to deadline
- Ability to analyse data and translate insight into strategic recommendations
- Ideally experience in consulting, sustainability, or working across regulated industries.
