The business is now looking to hire a hands-on Senior Java Developer to help scale their platform and shape the next phase of growth.
This is a rare chance to join a well-funded, product-led start-up at a pivotal point in its journey. What You’ll Do:
- Lead and contribute to hands-on development using Java and Spring Boot.
- Oversee and collaborate with a distributed engineering team (based in Eastern Europe).

- Work closely with the founders to define technical roadmaps and delivery milestones.
- Ensure engineering excellence through code reviews, best practices, and mentoring.
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years’ experience in Java development, ideally with strong Spring Boot knowledge.
- Proven experience working with Kubernetes and AWS.
- Prior exposure to Currency Cloud APIs or similar payment/FX API integrations is highly desirable.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, start-up environment with limited structure and high autonomy.
- Able to balance hands-on coding with technical leadership.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
- Experience in FinTech or payments is a major plus.
What’s in It for You:
- £50,000–£80,000 base salary (DOE).
- EMI stock options (10% company-wide pool) with significant upside potential.
- Full-time, remote-first flexibility - work from anywhere (UK hours preferred).
- Opportunity to join a venture-backed business at a truly exciting growth stage.
- A culture built on trust, transparency, and work-life balance.
The Tech Stack:
- Backend: Java, Spring Boot
- Infrastructure: AWS, Kubernetes
- APIs: Currency Cloud (and similar FX/payment APIs)
- Tools: GitHub, Slack, AI-driven automation tools
