We are seeking an experienced Workday Architect and Configuration Consultant to lead the optimisation, design, and enhancement of an existing Workday environment. This role requires a hands‑on expert who can blend strategic design thinking with deep technical configuration expertise across HR and Payroll modules.

The successful consultant will assess the current configuration, design scalable and efficient processes, and ensure that the system supports operational goals and governance standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct a technical and functional assessment of the current Workday configuration to identify optimisation opportunities.
  • Design and configure Workday solutions that align to business and operating model requirements across HR, Payroll, and Integrations.
  • Lead on solution architecture, ensuring changes are scalable, efficient, and aligned with governance frameworks.
  • Partner with HR, Finance, and IT to ensure configuration supports business outcomes and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, configuration logs, and design standards.
  • Provide hands‑on configuration support across Core HCM, Compensation, Absence, and relevant Workday modules.
  • Support testing, deployment, and knowledge transfer to internal teams.
  • Advise on integration improvements and data flow optimisation.
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as a Workday Architect or Senior Configuration Consultant within complex organisations.
  • Strong knowledge across Core HCM, Payroll, and Integrations (including security and data model understanding).
  • Ability to assess, design, and implement end‑to‑end process and configuration changes.
  • Solid understanding of governance frameworks, release management, and environment strategy.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, comfortable working with HR, Finance, and IT leadership.
  • Self‑sufficient, hands‑on, and able to deliver both strategic and tactical outcomes.
Logistics
  • Hybrid: 2 days on site (London area), remainder remote.
  • Start Date: ASAP / Flexible for the right consultant.
  • Duration: 6‑9 Months initially.
