Job Title: Shift Mechanical Fitter\\nLocation: Leeds\\nSalary: £47,000 per year\\nJob Type: Full-Time, Permanent (Shifts)\\n\\nAre you an experienced Mechanical Fitter based in Leeds and looking for shift-based role in a fast-paced industrial environment?\\n\\nWe’re working with a leading manufacturing business who are looking to add a skilled Shift Mechanical Fitter to their team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a reactive and preventative maintenance environment and enjoys working with a wide variety of equipment and systems.\\n\\nKey Responsibilities:\\n\\n * Respond to breakdowns as the first point of contact, working alongside the shift electrician\\n\\n * Use Pemac CMMS to receive and log jobs, allocate spares, and record histories\\n\\n * Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections\\n\\n * Fault-find and repair rotating equipment including pumps, gearboxes, pulpers, fans, refiners etc.\\n\\n * Install and align new mechanical components and assemblies\\n\\n * Carry out light machining tasks (lathe, mill, pillar drill) and basic welding/fabrication\\n\\n * Maintain and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, and steam plant systems\\n\\n * Assist with writing risk assessments and ensuring safety protocols are followed\\n\\n * Participate in shift rotation, including cover shift every 5th cycle\\n\\nWhat You’ll Need:\\n\\n * Recognised Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship\\n\\n * At least 5 years’ experience in an industrial setting\\n\\n * Strong mechanical fault-finding skills\\n\\n * Confident with CMMS systems and general IT literacy\\n\\n * Knowledge of preventative maintenance techniques\\n\\n * A proactive, self-motivated attitude and the flexibility to work shifts\\n\\n * Willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute to a close-knit team\\n\\nWhat’s on Offer:\\n\\n * £47,000 annual salary\\n\\n * Permanent role with a structured 4-shift pattern (plus 1 in 5 cover shift)\\n\\n * Diverse, hands-on work across a large-scale production site\\n\\n * Additional training provided – including FLT, cherry picker & more\\n\\n * Opportunity to work on critical assets across mechanical and fluid power systems\\n\\nApply now to join a respected employer with a strong track record of investing in their people
