Role Overview

Our client is a leading global manufacturer and distributor of cabling and cabling infrastructure solutions, with a strong and growing presence in the data centre market. As part of their continued investment in the EMEA region, they are seeking a Data Centre Segment Lead to own and drive the regional strategy for this vertical.

This role has full responsibility for developing and executing the EMEA data centre segment strategy, driving revenue growth, strengthening key customer and partner relationships, and positioning the business as a preferred supplier across hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise data centre projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Segment Strategy & Leadership
    • Develop and execute the EMEA data centre segment strategy aligned with global objectives.
    • Act as the senior subject-matter expert for data centres within the region, internally and externally.
    • Define value propositions, target accounts, and go-to-market approaches for hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise customers.
  • Commercial & Business Development
    • Drive sustainable revenue growth across the data centre segment in EMEA.
    • Identify and develop strategic relationships with key end users, consultants, EPCs, contractors, and channel partners.
    • Support major project pursuits, framework agreements, and strategic bids across the region.
    • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer requirements to inform commercial strategy.
  • Sales Enablement & Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Work closely with regional sales teams to support account strategies, pipeline development, and deal execution.
    • Collaborate with marketing on segment-specific messaging, campaigns, and thought leadership.
    • Partner with product management and R&D to influence product roadmaps based on data centre market needs.
    • Provide training and guidance to internal teams on data centre applications, standards, and solutions.
  • Regional Influence & Governance
    • Act as the EMEA escalation point for complex or strategic data centre opportunities.
    • Contribute to forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning for the segment.
    • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer forums across EMEA.

Candidate Profile

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience in the data centre industry, ideally within cabling, connectivity, or broader physical infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of data centre architectures, standards, and key stakeholders (hyperscalers, colo operators, consultants, contractors).
  • Demonstrated success in a senior commercial, segment management, or business development role with regional scope.
  • Experience working across multiple EMEA markets, navigating cultural and commercial complexity.
  • Strong strategic thinking combined with hands-on commercial execution.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
