We are conducting a retained search on behalf of a well-established aerospace & defence manufacturing group with five operational sites across Europe. The business has a strong market presence and a solid platform for growth, and is now seeking to appoint a Managing Director to lead its next phase of transformation and performance improvement.

This is a significant leadership role with full accountability for a £110m P&L, encompassing both strategic direction and operational execution across a multi-site, international footprint. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sustainable top‑line growth while delivering meaningful EBITDA improvement. A key focus will be to enhance the commercial effectiveness of the organisation by developing existing customer relationships, increasing share of wallet, and proactively identifying and securing new business opportunities within a competitive and highly regulated sector.

In parallel, the Managing Director will lead business transformation initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency, scalability, and overall financial performance, while fostering a high‑performance culture across all locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Full ownership of group P&L (£110m), ensuring delivery of revenue and profitability targets
  • Development and execution of a clear growth strategy across core and adjacent markets
  • Strengthening and expanding key customer accounts, alongside targeted new business acquisition
  • Driving EBITDA improvement through both commercial and operational levers
  • Leading transformation programmes to enhance capability, efficiency, and competitiveness
  • Providing strong, visible leadership across a geographically dispersed organisation
Qualifications
  • Delivery of measurable revenue growth and margin improvement at scale
  • Experience of full P&L ownership within a complex, multi-site environment
  • A strong commercial mindset, with the ability to both grow existing accounts and penetrate new markets
  • Proven experience managing and leading European operations is essential
  • Evidence of successfully transforming businesses and driving sustainable performance improvement
