Head of Transformation

12 month initial FTC

A private equity-backed wealth and investment platform is seeking a Head of Transformation to lead its change portfolio through a period of substantial growth. The business has scaled quickly in recent years, through both acquisition and organic growth, and is now moving from a traditional financial and professional services model towards a technology-led platform. This role sits at the centre of that transition.

Reporting to the CIO, you will own a single portfolio of transformation programmes spanning the whole business. The remit combines building major, client-facing platform propositions with operational excellence programmes such as integrating acquisitions, business unit transformation or helping deliver the group wide AI strategy .

It is a broad and senior mandate that includes building out the transformation function itself alongside delivering the programmes within it.

What the role involves

  • Owning the transformation portfolio across the business, covering any change that carries a technology or systems dimension.
  • Leading the delivery of proprietary, client-facing platform products that expand what the business offers to its markets.
  • Integrating acquired businesses onto common systems and processes, and improving operational performance across the group.
  • Building and developing the function beneath you, including programme management, a PMO, business analysis and testing.
  • Partnering closely with business unit leaders across the organisation, and reporting progress to the board on priority initiatives.
  • Working alongside the Head of AI and Product on an agenda that spans much of the change portfolio.

What we are looking for

  • A transformation leader with a strong record of delivering complex change from within an organisation, ideally in financial services or professional services.
  • Experience owning delivery and outcomes as an operator, rather than solely in an advisory capacity. A consulting background is welcome alongside in-house delivery experience.
  • A strong affinity for technology and confidence working with product and engineering teams, without the need to be a technologist by background.
  • Exposure to how services are delivered to clients and the systems behind them, ideally with a career that has moved from operations or delivery into projects, change and transformation.
  • Availability to start at short notice.

Why this, why now

  • The business is at an important stage of its development, investing in new platform capabilities and reshaping its proposition for the market.
  • The private equity investor is mid-cycle, with further acquisitions anticipated and a growing focus on operational strength and scalability.
  • The programmes in scope are central to the group's value creation plan, giving the role high visibility with the executive and the board.

This is a senior, broad mandate in a business at a significant point in its growth. The person appointed will help shape both the platform the business brings to market and the way it operates day to day. We welcome applications from transformation leaders with the experience and appetite to take it on.
