This is an exciting, multiskilled role working across ITV News’ broadcast and digital output. You will use a broad range of technical skills to help our teams create content in our Newsroom studio, supporting the delivery of ambitious output including digital programmes, podcasts, social media content, and live streams across all ITV platforms for both our ITV News and ITVX teams. As part of your role you will also be required to work in the network gallery with the sound department as a Comms operator, helping to broadcast Network News bulletins.
Please note this role will require shift work including unsociable hours and weekends.
Key Responsibilities- Acting as a multiskilled production operator across all technical roles in the studio and gallery, both as part of a small team and a solo operator, including Sound, basic Lighting control, Remote camera operation, Studio floor setup and Floor Management, and Vision Mixing.
- Where required, some basic directing.
- Outputting the live London regional news opts into Good Morning Britain on ITV as a solo operator.
- Assisting the Sound Supervisor in the ITV Network gallery on network Lunchtime and Evening bulletins, managing communication with field teams and lining up remote guests for the programmes.
- Creative input is encouraged and may be required to help the team think of new and innovative ways to produce content.
- Previous technical experience working in a gallery and studio.
- Previous live production experience preferred.
- Experience with software tools and platforms such as Newtek Tricaster, VMIX and NDI preferred, but not essential.
- Basic knowledge of sound operation and comms.
- Willingness to learn a range of new skills and apply those skills across a variety of areas.
- Able to work in a team in a busy, demanding and creative production environment, demonstrating good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and to a deadline.
- Ability to demonstrate a keen interest in broadcast and digital production technologies and content creation.
- Applicants should ideally have an interest in news and current affairs.
