To produce content of the highest quality on ITV News London television output, and on our ITVX and digital platforms. The role involves producing bulletins, producing reporters, filming, editing and uploading content for ITV News London programmes and on ITVX. The role also requires writing for digital; identifying stories for socials; and some planning shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Working as a producer for ITV News London - writing and cutting picture for bulletins, overseeing bulletins in the gallery.
- Producing reporters on all stories including top stories, And Finallys.
- Ability to bring energy and flair to production with ideas and different treatment.
- Produce lively and engaging studio segments with some high profile guests.
- Curating content for the ITV News service on ITVX, clipping video from ITV News London’s television bulletins and publishing directly to the news ‘rail’ on ITVX.
- Filming, editing and publishing material to ITVX.
- Working with ITV News London presenters to edit and produce lead-ins and other content.
- Accurate script writing and editing capability to turn around content for TV or online platforms.
- Requirement to also work on the ITV News website, social media accounts and across TV news production shifts.
- Understanding of Inews, and the planning tool Wolftech.
- Create compelling thumbnails for ITV News London videos published on ITVX, and promoting content on ITV News social media platforms.
- Ensuring a wide range of representative voices feature across all our coverage.
- Sourcing and logging picture and stills and accurate astons.
- Ensure stories are accurate, comply with the law and relevant regulations, and work in accordance with ITN guidelines on health and safety in the office and in the field.

- Very well organised with a high ability to multi-task, working across multiple stories per day.
- Working under pressure in a newsroom environment.
- High-quality news judgement, good initiative and a self-starter.
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
- Ability to edit to a high standard and at speed - experience of editing with Avid desired.
- Scrupulous attention to detail, able to write accurate scripts and edit high quality video.
- Experience in package production, bulletin writing and graphics scripting desirable.
- An excellent general knowledge of news and current affairs, especially in the capital.
- Experience of publishing to a content management system and writing headlines for digital output.
- A sound knowledge of the logistics of making video content.
- Excellent writing ability.
- Technical adaptability and flexibility.
- A strong team player.
- Calm under pressure with the ability to adapt and be flexible in both task and role.
- Sound knowledge of the ITN Compliance manual.
- Awareness of Health and Safety requirements.
