Description

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Multi skilled camera operator to join our production team. The successful candidate will operate cameras in a live or recorded studio environment, ensuring high-quality visual output that aligns with the creative vision and technical requirements of the production. This role requires a strong understanding of camera work, visual storytelling, and collaboration within a fast-paced studio setting.

This role will primarily entail shift working on the Good Morning Britain programme. There may also be an opportunity to work across ITV and C4 News, OBs and special event coverage.

There may also be opportunity to work alongside Correspondents and Presenters in the field to facilitate live inserts into GMB.Key Responsibilities

  • Operate studio cameras during live or recorded broadcasts, ensuring precise framing, focus, and composition, to include both ped and jimmy jib cameras
  • Follow Director\’s cues and scripts to execute camera moves including pans, tilts, zooms, and tracking shots
  • Collaborate with the lighting and sound teams to achieve optimal visual and sound quality
  • Maintain awareness of studio floor activity to ensure safety and avoid disrupting other technical operations
  • Conduct routine checks and minor maintenance on camera equipment
  • Assist with setup and de rig of the studio before and after shoots
  • Adapt quickly to changes in the script, production schedule, or camera direction

  • Proven experience operating cameras in a studio or broadcast environment
  • Proficiency with professional broadcast camera systems and associated equipment
  • Strong understanding of shot composition, camera movement, and visual storytelling
  • Ability to follow technical direction and work collaboratively with production staff
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and timing
  • Attention to detail and ability to stay focused during long shooting periods
  • Basic knowledge of lighting and sound as it relates to camera work
  • Understanding of Shotoku robotic systems and how to operate them
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and operate heavy equipment
  • Full valid driving license
  • LiveU experience preferred
  • Awareness of Health and Safety in a live studio environment
  • This role requires shift work and out of hours work
