The predicted salary is between 28800 - 48000 Β£ per year.
To design and produce television news and multimedia graphics of the highest creative standard within tight deadlines using appropriate technology and software. The successful candidate will be an experienced graphics designer able to cope with the demands of a very dynamic fast-paced environment, often having to react to developing stories and breaking news. You will be comfortable working on your own and collaboratively across a wide range of projects from daily programme graphics through to working on some of the calendar's largest events as well as short notice specially commissioned content. The position requires shift working plus regular night working, with flexibility to meet the demands of a fast-paced news environment.
Key Responsibilities- To create daily broadcast content graphics, design and develop specialist story brands and creation of After Effects MOGRT templates for use with the programme digital teams.
- To communicate and liaise effectively with the programme team about the graphics requirements of the day.
- To liaise with key editorial staff to establish the top priorities for graphics within the stories of the day and accomplish these tasks in the most efficient and effective ways possible.
- To drive forward innovation and creativity within the graphics team inspiring others to do so themselves too.
- To ensure graphics created adhere to the output's house style and brand guidelines.
- To be proactive in contributing ideas about contemporary design techniques.
- Degree in a design discipline would be desirable.
- Highly skilled in After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator and Cinema 4D.
- Experience working with VizRT, preferable but not essential.
- Experience of working in a live broadcast and multi-platform environment, and of working to tight deadlines.
- An in-depth knowledge of television design, any related technical restrictions and different TV formats.
- A passion for features and current affairs as you will be working alongside directors, editors and journalists.
- An understanding of typography and all its restrictions on screen.
- Must be open minded to feedback, and flexible with amends required, being able to deliver creative for a variety of internal stakeholders and multiple platforms that have their specific requirements and print if required β often under significant time pressures.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects while simultaneously handling demands and changes.
- Excellent communication skills, able to communicate effectively with the gallery via talkback.
- Able to push the boundaries and bring innovation, creativity and original ideas to our ground-breaking journalism.
- Impeccable spelling, grammar and a commitment to total accuracy.
- Must demonstrate calmness under pressure.
- Awareness of Health and Safety Requirements.
