To fulfil a number of editorial and logistical roles for ITV News working on the Newsdesk and on Output teams. The role works on a roster pattern across different desks, early, late, weekend and overnight work will be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Work across the newsdesk, on output and digital platforms and out of the office
- Key liaison point between newsdesk and on-the-road teams
- To answer newsdesk phones, dealing with callers and prioritising information
- Coordinate the assignment of crews
- Assist the newseditors with interview bids and finding contributors
- Field produce when required including carrying out interviews
- Curating content for the news service on ITVX, clipping video from ITV News’ television bulletins and publishing directly to the news ‘rail’ on ITVX
- Editing video content using Adobe Premiere and Avid
- Publishing content to ITVX and to itv.com/news platforms using a content management system
- Create compelling thumbnails for news video
- Researching and selecting archive
- Sourcing and logging picture and stills
- Ensure ITV News coverage reflects and showcases a diverse range of opinions, matters and communities and champions diversity

Key Requirements
- You must possess either the relevant journalism qualification (BJTC, NCTJ or equivalent) or have relevant journalism/newsroom experience
- Excellent communicator, calm under pressure and a team player
- A good understanding of technology – ability to edit is a plus
- Good organisational skills coupled with the ability to multi-task under pressure, whilst retaining strong attention to detail
- Flexible worker with a positive, proactive approach to problem solving
- An excellent general knowledge of news and current affairs
- A genuine interest in, and knowledge of, the ITV News agenda
- Good knowledge of Ofcom regulations and the laws affecting journalists
- Awareness of Health and Safety requirements
- A full, clean UK driving licence is desirable
