The Role
This is a role for someone who gets excited by how data and insight can draw people into stories, video production and living histories. A big part of the job is turning years of archive sales and usage signals into real, creatively coherent collections — working closely with existing archivists to shape packs that feel editorially smart and discovery-led. You’ll also be comfortable generating and presenting insight clearly, holding your own in conversations about rights, platform policy and commercial outcomes, and making the data legible to colleagues who don’t live in spreadsheets.
You’ll sit at the intersection of editorial judgement, rights management and platform performance, helping ITN make the most of its archive by combining YouTube Content ID expertise with data-driven curation. Content ID isn’t just a technical system here — it’s part of a wider strategy to track misuse, automate claiming/monetisation, and build the foundations for new creator-facing revenue routes. Finally, this role is explicitly about modern analysis: you’ll help build and iterate AI agent models that can interrogate large datasets and surface patterns — and a working understanding of building agents in Copilot Studio is a genuine advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Data analysis & insight
- Produce regular analysis using years of archive sales/royalty datasets (trend views, genre/theme performance, repeat customers, territories, seasonality, emerging demand).
- Create clear outputs (dashboards / summaries / narratives) that translate complex signals into decisions: "what collections do we build next?", "what should we digitise/foreground?", "where is value being missed?"
- Work collaboratively with colleagues who already handle sales reporting to ensure insight is consistent, explainable and usable.
- To help build and maintain YouTube Content ID operations
- Maintain a working understanding of how Content ID supports misuse tracking and the operational pathways for claiming/blocking/monetising.
- Support workflows that help Content ID function as a commercial enabler (including creator/third-party routes where relevant).
- Communicate Content ID concepts clearly to non-specialists (editorial colleagues, archivists, stakeholders).
- Building AI agent models for analysis
- Build and iterate AI agent models designed to interrogate large datasets and automate repeatable analysis (e.g., summarising month-by-month patterns, spotting anomalies, proposing collection themes based on demand clusters) working to briefs from more senior staff.
- Where appropriate, use Copilot Studio as part of the toolset (connectors, deployment into Teams/SharePoint) — or demonstrate equivalent agent-building experience elsewhere.
- To assist with curation & assembly
- Co-create archive collections with existing producers and archivists — using data and editorial judgement to select themes, identify gaps, and assemble coherent packages.
- Maintain a strong collaborative relationship with editorial staff and be able to explain why a collection works (and what data supports it).
- Bonus mindset: genuine enthusiasm for old film and news stories; curiosity to explore and surface gems.
These are the main requirements of the role and is not an exhaustive list of duties. It is intended to reflect the nature, range, and context of the work, which will change over time.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in data analysis, ideally involving content, archive, royalty or audience datasets.
- Strong understanding of YouTube Content ID, rights workflows and digital monetisation.
- Ability to turn data into clear recommendations and commercially useful curation ideas.
- Confidence working across editorial, archive, rights and technical teams.
- Experience using AI tools or agents to support repeatable analysis and insight generation.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex issues simply.
Our people are at the heart of everything we do at ITN. It’s vital that our workforce reflects the diversity of both our audience and the wider society in the UK, so we actively seek candidates from diverse backgrounds and communities. Reasonable adjustments to the recruitment process will be offered, if required, due to a disability or health condition. We also recognise the importance of a good work life balance, so we do everything we can to accommodate flexible working, including part-time and job shares for all our roles. Please just let us know in your application, or at any stage throughout the process, if this is something you want to explore.
