What are we looking for
We are looking for a proactive and highly skilled Senior Quality Engineer to join our high-value, medium-volume manufacturing operation. This role focuses heavily on advanced problem-solving, root cause analysis, and driving
continuous improvement initiatives. In addition, you will play a pivotal role in mentoring and developing junior quality engineers, helping to build a strong quality team capable of sustaining excellence in product performance and
compliance. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping to establish and embed a culture of quality across all levels of the business.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes using structured problem-solving tools (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa, DMAIC).
- Develop, refine, and implement quality plans, inspection procedures, and control methods to support medium-volume production runs of high-value products.
- Oversee product quality during manufacturing, ensuring compliance with internal standards and customer requirements.
- Act as a key resource for troubleshooting and resolving quality issues both on the production floor and in the field.
- Drive continuous improvement projects focused on reducing defects, improving yields, and enhancing process capability.
- Mentor, coach, and train junior quality engineers and inspectors to enhance their technical skills and problem-solving capabilities.
- Conduct regular quality audits, lead supplier quality management efforts, and manage customer quality concerns and audits.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of quality records, reports, and data analysis to support traceability and compliance.
- Communicate quality performance and improvement plans effectively with senior management and cross-functional teams.
About You
Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or HNC in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of quality engineering experience in a high-value, medium-volume manufacturing environment.
- Proven expertise in structured problem-solving techniques and quality improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean, 8D).
- Experience in mentoring and developing junior engineers or quality technicians.
- Strong knowledge of quality standards and systems such as ISO 9001.
- Proficiency with quality tools and software: FMEA, SPC, MSA, Control Plans, statistical analysis (Minitab or similar).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
