Our Major Events team produces some of Scotland’s largest and most creative live experiences, welcoming hundreds of thousands of guests every year. Alongside delivering flagship events at scale, we are constantly developing new immersive concepts that push the boundaries of live entertainment. Every event we deliver also supports the communities around it. Through ticket donations, partnerships and charitable initiatives we contribute tens of thousands of pounds each year to local charities and community organisations.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Event Manager to play a key leadership role in the operational planning and delivery of our major events. Working alongside the Head of Events and senior leadership team, you will help lead the delivery of complex large-scale events supported by a substantial team across production, marketing, commercial and operations. This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who thrives in live environments and wants to help deliver world-class experiences at scale.
The Role
- You will take ownership of operational planning and live site delivery across our major events, ensuring every event is safe, compliant, operationally robust and ready to deliver an exceptional audience experience.
- This role requires proven experience delivering large-scale outdoor events, leading operational teams and managing complex live event environments.
- The position is based full time in our Glasgow HQ outside live event periods, with significant on-site leadership during build, live and de-rig phases.
- You will be joining a small, highly ambitious and innovative events team that works at pace, collaborates closely and constantly looks for ways to improve the guest experience.
- Training and development will be provided as part of the role as we continue to grow our events portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Event Planning & Pre-Production
- Lead operational planning and health and safety strategy for major outdoor events.
- Develop and manage Event Management Plans (EMP) and key operational documentation.
- Prepare and oversee supporting documentation including risk assessments, method statements, crowd management plans, safeguarding and emergency procedures.
- Work closely with production teams, contractors and suppliers to gather and approve safety documentation.
- Ensure all planning meets legislative, licensing and industry best-practice requirements.
- Regulatory & Compliance
- Act as the operational lead for regulatory compliance across major events.
- Liaise confidently with local authorities, licensing teams and emergency services.
- Lead regulatory inspections, audits and safety reviews.
- Ensure licensing conditions and regulatory feedback are embedded into future planning.
- Live Event & Site Leadership
- Act as the senior operational presence on site during live events.
- Lead operational delivery during build, live days and de-rig phases.
- Call site open, lead operational briefings and oversee shutdown procedures.
- Maintain exceptional standards across site operations, guest journey and event presentation.
- Team Leadership
- Recruit, build and develop high-performing operational teams alongside our People team.
- Lead large stewarding and event operations teams on site.
- Provide clear leadership and maintain a strong culture of professionalism and guest focus.
- Lead incident response and operational decision-making during live events.
- Complete post-event reporting and contribute to continual improvement across events.
- Collaboration & Event Development
- Work closely with production, marketing, commercial and venue teams to ensure operational delivery aligns with creative ambition and commercial goals.
- Contribute operational insight to the development of new immersive event concepts.
