We’re looking for a Financial Controller to lead the Group’s finance, payroll, and transaction processing functions. Managing a team, you’ll take ownership of preparing Group consolidated management accounts while ensuring strong financial governance, accurate reporting, and effective controls across the business.
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you’ll play a key role in driving continuous improvement across the Group finance function, enhancing processes, strengthening insight, and supporting sound financial decision-making. This is a senior, hands-on role offering the opportunity to influence how finance supports the wider organisation.
Summary of role and responsibilities
- Oversee the monthly financial close process, ensuring accurate consolidated balance sheets and management accounts.
- Manage group cashflow, ensuring efficient cash management through optimisation of cash collections and improved management and visibility of accounts payable.
- Be responsible for balance sheet integrity, ensuring robust reconciliation and balance sheet review processes are adhered to.
- Support M&A integration processes, managing the consolidation and acquisition accounting is accurately reflected in the group management accounts.
- Implement and monitor robust financial controls and procedures for business operations.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements in all financial operations.
- Liaise with external auditors and management of the audit process.
- Support process improvement and finance transformation initiatives.
- Support budgeting forecasting and financial planning processes.
- Contribute to the achievement of corporate objectives by providing financial and accounting advice, direction and leadership to the operations teams, other finance team members and senior leadership teams.
- Manage current and future FX risk.
- Own the production of timely and accurate management accounts, at profit centre, legal entity and consolidated levels.
- Provide insightful finance advice to support strategic decision making.
- Work in collaboration with the Head of FP&A and Operational Finance to ensure complete, accurate and timely MI reporting.
- Successfully complete all identified training both in-house and external, as required.
- Assist with any other duties reasonably requested and in line with the requirements of the post.
- Have line management and functional responsibility for assigned team.
Summary of requirements
- Qualified Accountant – ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge with excellent attention to detail.
- Proven experience in a Financial Controller or similar senior finance role, ideally within a multi-entity, multi-currency group organisation, ideally in a private-equity owned structure.
- Advanced excel and strong analytical capabilities.
- Experience with ERP Systems.
- Experience with Microsoft D365 (Desirable).
- Proven experience leading, developing and mentoring finance team members.
- Process and Systems improvement focused.
