Position Overview
Ithaca Energy is accepting applications for the position of Project Engineer (Construction), located in our Aberdeen Office. Reporting to the Projects & Engineering team, the Project Engineer will deliver quality and ensure consistency for all Subsea and/or Topside Engineering of the assigned Project ensuring the highest technical and safety standard, focusing on value creation and project delivery, with a bias towards construction engineering, installation, hook-up and commissioning support.
Responsibilities
- Support the Development Projects and Engineering Manager or Project Manager in Subsea and/or Topside Engineering activities throughout the Project lifecycle by:
- Developing project management, engineering and construction deliverables in the Define and Execute Phases
- Input to functional and technical specifications.
- Performing technical and commercial evaluation of tenders.
- Providing technical and delivery assistance during detail engineering, construction, installation, hook-up and commissioning.
- Overseeing engineering team and construction site supervisors
- Overseeing engineering and construction contractors
Accountabilities
- Influencing and coordinating multidisciplinary teams for the completion of the relevant Project Phase, in accordance with the approved program, within the budget and to the specific standards.
- Be the primary contact for project construction and commissioning related support, including onshore fabrication and construction.
- Review key site construction deliverables produced by the main contractor and sub-contractors.
- Review all project construction related site queries and interface data requests.
- Identifying, managing and maintaining visibility of risks and opportunities relevant to area of responsibility.
- Develop and communicate mitigation and contingency plans as appropriate.
- Maintaining formal records relating to actions, decisions, technical queries, concession requests, interfaces, change management, variation control PLANC, and project delivery and assurance.
- Supporting technical evaluation of bids, enquiries, proposals and potential solutions, as appropriate.
- Preparation of project management deliverables as per company requirements, e.g. project delivery / gate processes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Extensive experience working in project co-ordination / engineering or a relevant engineering discipline of offshore oil & gas capital projects.
- Qualified at HNC level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Valid offshore survival and medical.
- Experienced in engineering, construction installation, hook-up and commissioning phases of medium to large scale capital oil and gas projects.
- HSEQ: including process safety, safety analysis, HAZOP, HAZID, SIMOPS, and Environmental studies.
- Inspection and expediting, and QA/QC Completions Management Systems for construction installation, commissioning and handover.
Basic understanding of:
- Experience of facilities design and analysis incorporating knowledge of wells, subsea, and topsides facilities.
- Project management: contracting strategies, program and budget, planning and control, cost estimate, contractor management, JV management, risk management ITT Preparation: commercial and contractual evaluation.
