Position Overview

Ithaca Energy is accepting applications for the position of Senior Reservoir Engineer, located in our Aberdeen Office.

Support and lead reservoir engineering work across a portfolio of assets in the predevelopment, development or production phase within a multi-disciplinary subsurface team.

Responsibilities

Responsible for analysis, evaluation and reservoir engineering studies for a portfolio of assets and projects. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Analyse field and wells dynamic behavior – raw data manipulation and acquisition planning, including PVT, PBU, sampling and other operations to validate field performance and performance predictions.
  • Contribute to the definition of the appropriate reservoir management strategy and data acquisition to maximize field economic recovery.
  • Perform reservoir modelling and dynamic simulations, history matching/calibration, and subsurface uncertainty analysis. Use fit-for-purpose integrated predictive tools and models to evaluate incremental well & development opportunities, and to assess production forecasts and reserves.
  • Develop, build and adapt reservoir models, working with geoscience, petrophysical and petrotechnical disciplines.
  • Prepare and document production forecasts for producing assets for short-term and life-of-field forecasting, working with Production teams to ensure appropriate Well and Reservoir management.
  • Initiate technical and business cases for incremental projects to optimize production and maximize economic recovery. Evaluate further development strategies and incremental investment projects to mature contingent and prospective resources.
  • Provide technical support for well planning and completions design and execution, including testing and sampling operations as required.
  • Perform reserves and resources estimates, classification, and documentation for reserve reporting internally.
  • Act as a technical leader on projects when required, coordinating cross-discipline activities.
  • Provide technical support and mentoring to other reservoir engineers.
  • Participate in peer reviews as requested.
  • Ensure all relevant information is stored appropriately, identify issues, and propose improvements to asset team databases.

  • Ensure all activities are carried out safely, complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation, and Ithaca Energy HSEQ procedures.
  • Act in accordance with company policies and values at all times.

Qualifications & Experience

  • BSc degree or equivalent in reservoir or petroleum engineering.
  • Deep understanding of reservoir and petroleum engineering activities.
  • Significant experience working on development and producing projects, mainly in an operated environment.
  • Proficient in computational models for development planning, stimulation design, well performance evaluation, and completion analysis.
  • Experience with Prosper MBAL and GAP, Eclipse, TNav, and Petrel.
  • Proficient in uncertainty management analysis.
  • Effective communication skills across technical disciplines and with stakeholders.
  • Ability to simplify complex issues, present confidently, and influence decisions.
  • Strong multitasking, prioritization, and responsiveness to deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with leadership qualities to deliver technical studies.
  • Ability to work across multiple assets in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Fluent in English, both oral and written.
  • Excellent analytical and simulation skills in reservoir engineering (e.g., MBal, Eclipse).
  • Experience in strategic development planning and capital project proposals.
  • Knowledge of operations and well planning is desirable.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
