Position Overview
Ithaca Energy is accepting applications for the position of Graduate Petroleum Engineer, working within the Subsurface Department. The successful candidate will provide technical support in petroleum/reservoir engineering activities across operated assets and projects. This position offers exposure to subsurface workflows, modelling and field development planning while building foundational skills under supervision.
Responsibilities
- Assist in data gathering and analysis of well and reservoir performance (pressure, production, fluid properties).
- Support reservoir modelling and simulation tasks, including history matching and uncertainty analysis.
- Contribute to production forecasting and reserves estimation under guidance.
- Participate in integrated subsurface studies with geoscientists, petrophysicists, production engineers and drilling engineers.
- Help prepare technical documentation and presentations for internal and external reviews.
- Ensure compliance with HSEQ standards and company policies in all activities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline (Master's preferred but not essential).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and willingness to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Proactive attitude and eagerness to learn.
- Familiarity with reservoir engineering principles and industry standard software tools (e.g. Eclipse, T-Nav, MBAL, Prosper) desirable.
- With a high level of drive, the ideal candidate will be a self-starter that can take direction and work autonomously, ideally solution focused.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate / interact at different levels across the organisation.
This role is based in Aberdeen with occasional travel to operational sites. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
