Maintenance Supervisor

About the role
As a Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll lead the day‑to‑day operations of our maintenance function at our Eynsham facility, ensuring high equipment availability and smooth production continuity. Working permanent days, you’ll oversee a multi‑shift maintenance team, acting as the link between engineering, production, and leadership. This is an established, hands‑on leadership role where your technical knowledge and people skills combine to create a safe, reliable, and high‑performing environment.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading and supporting a team of maintenance engineers across rotating weekday and weekend shifts
- Coordinating fast and effective breakdown response to minimise downtime and protect production output
- Overseeing planned, preventive, predictive, and statutory maintenance activities
- Prioritising work on the shop floor, balancing scheduled maintenance with operational risk and uptime
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and cost performance
- Acting as the interface between maintenance, production teams, and management
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards at all times
- Analysing recurring issues using data and root‑cause methods, and implementing lasting solutions
- Supporting optimisation projects and working with suppliers and contractors where required
- Maintaining accurate documentation, reporting, and performance visibility
What skills and experience you’ll bring
- A strong background in industrial maintenance, ideally within a highly automated manufacturing environment
- Solid technical expertise in mechanical and electrical systems, with exposure to automation, PLCs, robotics, or SCADA
- Proven people leadership experience, including managing and motivating teams across multiple shifts
- Confidence making sound decisions under pressure and prioritising work based on operational risk
- Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance planning
- A continuous improvement mindset, with experience in root cause analysis and performance optimisation
- Strong communication skills, able to engage effectively with engineers, production teams, and leaders
- Relevant technical qualifications or apprenticeship, with safety certification such as IOSH or NEBOSH highly valued
