IT Global Consulting Limited is seeking an experienced and highly motivated DevOps Engineer responsible for the development, maintenance and ongoing support of the platform, acting as the internal focal point for an enterprise platform. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, ambitious and continuously updates their knowledge to remain at the forefront of DevOps processes and technologies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work within an agile context utilizing CI/CD.
- Articulate logical designs and translate them into physical infrastructure.
- Support teams in mapping their stories to available platforms, facilitating secure services deployment.
- Develop hardened base containers and perform skilled platform build/support activities.
- Identify where teams deviate from best practice and advise on delivery risk.
- Assist engineers in service topology discovery and define QA and deployment pipelines.
- Promote adoption of new tools, improve integration approaches and support processes.
- Collaborate with AWS to assess applications, software and hardware.
- Design, coordinate and administer AWS infrastructure, integrating cloud-native services with third-party products.
- Enhance tech stack/configurations of existing services to improve performance and reduce issues.
- Build and manage VPC environments across Sandbox, DEV, Test, Production, Training and Support.
- Automate deployments via infrastructure-as-code tools such as Pulumi/Terraform.
- Troubleshoot containerization (Docker, etc.) and provide support.
- Architect, design, develop, deploy and operate Kubernetes clusters, leading the team.
- Plan and implement autoscaling on AWS, Karpenter, and manage Crossplane if applicable.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using cloud-native and third-party tools.
- Build a robust automated test suite to support a CI/CD environment.
- Collaborate with internal and vendor development/business teams.
- Design and document solutions based on business requirements.
- Write well-designed, testable, quality code following clean code principles.
- Work with key stakeholders (Solution Architects, Business teams) to translate business needs into platform solutions.
- Suggest innovative solutions that leverage technology for marketing differentiation, efficiency and enhanced user experiences.
- Meet tight timescales while maintaining quality product development.
Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications
- AWS Cloud technologies.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Bash, Python.
- Proficiency in shell scripting and Python.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Bitbucket, Git, Maven, Helm).
- Infrastructure-as-code experience (Pulumi, Terraform).
- Monitoring and metrics platforms (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ELK Stack).
- Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments and ability to assess security of existing applications.
- Experience with Nix is desirable.
- Strong understanding of DevOps concepts and ability to deploy pipelines.
- Experience with networking (IPv4, Nginx) and relational/non-relational data technologies is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving, initiative, self-learning and team-player traits.
