We are looking for a skilled and proactive QA Automation Engineer with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in QA automation testing. The successful candidate will design, develop, maintain, and improve automated test suites for assigned projects, primarily using Selenium WebDriver with Java, JUnit or TestNG, and a Page Object Model framework. This role requires ownership of end-to-end testing activities across Agile or Kanban delivery teams, including test planning, automation development, pipeline execution, defect analysis, and collaboration with development teams and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain automation test scripts using Selenium WebDriver, Java, JUnit or TestNG, and the Page Object Model framework.
- Own and manage end-to-end automation testing activities for assigned Agile or Kanban projects.
- Build, enhance, and maintain reusable automation frameworks, libraries, utilities, and test data solutions.
- Create, execute, and maintain automated regression, smoke, functional, integration, and end-to-end test suites.
- Manage automation execution within CI/CD pipelines, ensuring test runs are stable, reliable, and suitable for release decisions.
- Analyse test results, investigate failures, identify root causes, and accurately record defects.
- Work closely with development teams, product owners, business analysts, and stakeholders to resolve issues and improve product quality.
- Review automation code written by fellow automation engineers and provide constructive feedback.
- Ensure automation scripts follow agreed coding standards, framework patterns, and maintainable design principles.
- Support cross-browser and web-based application testing.
- Write clear and effective automated test cases based on requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of automation coverage, framework stability, test execution speed, and reporting.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, refinement, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience in QA automation testing, preferably on web-based applications.
- Strong hands-on experience using Selenium WebDriver with Java.
- Experience working with JUnit, TestNG, or a similar Java-based test execution framework.
- Strong understanding of Page Object Model or similar maintainable automation design patterns.
- Experience creating and maintaining automation test suites for regression, smoke, functional, and end-to-end testing.
- Good knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for web application testing and element identification.
- Experience with cross-browser functional testing.
- Strong familiarity with bug tracking, defect reporting, and test management tools.
- Experience writing test cases, test scripts, and test execution reports.
- Working knowledge of BDD principles; experience with Cucumber or a similar BDD tool would be beneficial.
- Experience working in Agile, Scrum, or Kanban delivery environments.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation test integration using tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, or similar.
- Experience using version control tools such as Git or equivalent.
- Ability to investigate test failures and distinguish between script issues, environment issues, data issues, and application defects.
- Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and a quality-first mindset.
- Experience working with, or willingness to work towards, implementing AI-assisted testing solutions to improve test design, automation coverage, defect analysis, reporting, or test maintenance.
