About Itential: Itential is the leading platform for automation and orchestration within network and infrastructure domains. We enable enterprises and service providers to automate their operations through both deterministic and agentic orchestration — giving operators precise control where it’s needed and intelligent automation where it’s possible. Our platform — including FlowAI, FlowMCP, and our orchestration studio — is trusted by the world’s largest carriers, financial institutions, and enterprises to accelerate and de-risk their transformation journeys.
Role Summary: AI is changing how enterprises automate their infrastructure and networks. Itential is leading that shift, and this team is how we bring it to life for our customers. The Solutions Engineer plays a key role in delivering automation and orchestrated solutions within Itential’s Professional Services team.
What You’ll Do:
- Design, build, and deliver deterministic and agentic automation orchestration for customers within the Itential Platform.
- Integrate with API and MCP servers across common infrastructure, network, and ITSM systems.
- Consume and orchestrate customers' existing automation assets such as Ansible Playbooks, Terraform plans, Python scripts, and other artifacts.
- Create agentic automations through prompt engineering that translates operator intent into reliable, repeatable orchestration.
- Utilize Spec Driven Development on engagements capturing intent as a clear spec before building.
- Perform technical discovery and solution orchestration to create successful production automations at scale.
- Produce engagement deliverables including HLD, LLD, and knowledge transfer materials.
- Conduct customer sessions with strong preparation — demo-ready, context-aware, and able to adapt in real time.
Requirements Core Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in professional services, systems integration, or technical consulting, or relevant experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field — or equivalent practical experience.
- Solid grounding in computer science fundamentals — data structures, algorithms, networking (TCP/IP, DNS, routing), and Linux systems.
- Hands-on experience with REST APIs, webhooks, and common integration protocols (e.g., NETCONF, RESTCONF, gRPC) — and familiarity with event driven platforms such as Kafka, message queues, or similar.
- Proficient with Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins) for building, testing, and promoting automation code.
- Experience in customer-facing roles requiring quick thinking and real-time adaptability.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills — able to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfort operating in fast-moving environments with multiple simultaneous projects.
Nice to Have:
- Prior automation work targeting service-layer and infrastructure systems (e.g., F5, Palo Alto Panorama, Infoblox, NetBox).
- Hands-on with multi-vendor network device automations (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Arista).
- Familiarity automating cloud networking stacks (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Background integrating or automating ITSM and adjacent enterprise systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).
- Familiarity with the Itential platform or comparable network orchestration tools.
