We are looking for a technically credible, hands-on AI Project Lead / Integration Lead to help build a new enterprise AI capability across a group of established businesses in Cornwall. This is not a conventional IT project and it is not simply the rollout of ChatGPT, Copilot or an off-the-shelf AI product. The aim is to create a secure, practical AI environment connecting people, company knowledge, AI models and business processes across several different organisations.

You will take ownership of the programme, working with senior leaders, internal teams, technology partners and specialist advisers. You will not be expected to engineer every component yourself, but you will need enough technical understanding to challenge suppliers, make sound decisions and know when to build, configure, buy or avoid buying altogether.

We are interested in people with practical experience across areas such as LLMs and enterprise GenAI, RAG and enterprise search, AI agents and workflow automation, APIs and system integration, Microsoft 365/SharePoint, identity and permissions, security and data governance, and evaluating AI tools and suppliers. Your background could be in AI consulting, solutions architecture, AI engineering, technical product, automation or digital transformation. What matters most is that you have actually delivered AI or technology into real business environments, can communicate effectively with senior stakeholders and are comfortable taking ownership.

This is a predominantly on-site role in Cornwall. We recognise the right person may need to relocate, so accommodation and vehicle support can form part of the package. For the right candidate, this is an unusual opportunity to build an enterprise AI capability from an early stage, work directly with real businesses and users, and potentially help develop the model into a wider commercial proposition. If you have built real AI solutions and want the opportunity to own something rather than simply advise on it, we would like to hear from you.

How to prepare for a job interview at itecopeople

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If itecopeople uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
