We are seeking an experienced Contract Business Analyst to support a KPI reporting and dashboard development project on an initial six‑month assignment. The successful contractor will work closely with senior stakeholders to identify, define and gather the KPI metrics required for corporate reporting dashboards. This will include understanding business performance requirements, assessing available data points, shaping dashboard content, and ensuring information is presented clearly and effectively for senior audiences. This role would suit a confident, delivery‑focused Business Analyst with strong stakeholder engagement skills, recent social housing experience, and a solid understanding of KPI reporting, data requirements and dashboard design.
Contract: 6 months
Rate: c £500 per day Outside IR35, subject to CEST determination
Location: Remote‑first hybrid, with occasional face‑to‑face collaboration as required
Start: ASAP
Sector experience: Recent social housing experience required
Key responsibilities:
- Engaging with senior stakeholders to capture KPI, performance and reporting requirements.
- Identifying, assessing and documenting available data points and data sources.
- Translating stakeholder needs into clear dashboard and reporting requirements.
- Supporting the design of dashboard layouts, including wireframes and mock‑ups.
- Presenting reporting concepts and information clearly to business stakeholders.
- Working with BI, data or reporting teams to ensure requirements are understood and deliverable.
- Helping define KPI measures, calculation logic, thresholds and ownership.
- Identifying gaps where required KPIs are not currently supported by available data.
- Supporting the development of clear, meaningful and actionable management information.
Required experience:
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst on KPI reporting, dashboard, scorecard or management information projects.
- Recent experience working within the social housing sector.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, particularly with senior leaders and business owners.
- Experience gathering and documenting reporting, data and dashboard requirements.
- Ability to assess available data points and understand how they support KPI reporting.
- Experience producing wireframes, mock‑ups or visual reporting concepts.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and effectively.
- Good data literacy and confidence working with BI, reporting or data teams.
- Ability to quickly understand the environment and deliver at pace.
Desirable experience:
- Power BI or similar dashboarding/reporting tools from a requirements or functional design perspective.
- Supporting executive, board or committee‑level reporting.
- Knowledge of balanced scorecards, performance frameworks or RAG reporting.
- Strong Excel skills for data review, mapping or prototyping.
