A prestigious client seeks an experienced Platform Engineer to join a high-impact engineering team delivering a modern cloud-native platform that underpins AI and automation services across a large-scale enterprise environment. An exciting opportunity working on a greenfield Kubernetes platform built using modern engineering practices across Azure, GitOps, service mesh, observability and event-driven architecture.

The Role

You will be responsible for building, operating and improving a shared Kubernetes platform used by application, AI and integration engineering teams. Hands-on role covering infrastructure as code, Kubernetes operations, CI/CD, networking, observability and platform reliability. Working closely with architects and engineering teams shaping the future of the platform while helping maintain high standards across automation, security, scalability and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and operate Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environments
  • Manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform and ARM Templates
  • Support GitOps-based CI/CD and deployment pipelines
  • Operate observability tooling including Grafana and OpenTelemetry
  • Maintain platform networking, service mesh and API gateway layers
  • Support event streaming infrastructure and platform reliability
  • Participate in incident response and platform operations
  • Contribute to platform engineering standards and best practices

Skills & Experience

Candidates to have strong experience across:

  • Kubernetes platform engineering and cloud-native infrastructure
  • Microsoft Azure and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
  • Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
  • Docker, CI/CD and GitOps workflows
  • Linux, Bash scripting and platform automation
  • Observability tooling including Grafana and Prometheus
  • Kubernetes networking, security and service mesh technologies

Experience with the following would be highly beneficial:

  • Cilium
  • Istio / Service Mesh
  • ArgoCD or Flux
  • OpenTelemetry
  • Kafka or Redpanda
  • Python automation tooling
  • Policy as Code / Kubernetes security tooling
