Responsibilities

Lead, motivate and develop a team of Assessors to improve the quality of delivery across all learning programmes, ensuring high quality teaching, learning and assessment for all learners.

Ensure the company's Internal Quality Assurance processes are rigorous, leading to continuous improvement, improved learner satisfaction and success rates across the team.

  • Motivate and develop the team of Assessors to ensure learners have a positive learning experience and that KPIs are achieved.
  • Supervise how assessors plan, practise and review, advising them on whole framework expectations and appropriate actions.
  • Monitor and report on assessor performance to the Lead IQA and work with the Performance Manager to support development planning and implement targeted improvement plans.
  • Ensure assessors engage with workplace employers throughout the learning experience.
  • Manage sampling and verification activities to improve learner progression and achievement.
  • Ensure all IQA activities meet the needs of learners and exceed the requirements of Awarding Organisations, MEDR Estyn and Itec.
  • Embed cross‑cutting themes of Safeguarding/Prevent, ESDGC, Wales: Language and Culture, Equality & Diversity and Health & Safety/Well‑being.
  • Complete clear, well‑written IQA reports with sufficient detail to support and improve performance.
  • Participate in or manage EQA visits, ensuring the visit schedule is adhered to, all portfolios requested are presented and meet the standards, resulting in a positive visit.

Qualifications

Assessor and IQA qualification with relevant occupational competence.

Experience of delivering training and support.

Full driving licence and use of own vehicle.

In-depth knowledge of Apprenticeship programmes including framework requirements, IQA processes and assessment methods.

In-depth knowledge of Awarding Organisation requirements.

In-depth knowledge of Estyn Inspection requirements.

Desirable: Proven track record of leading a team of IQAs, experience coordinating EQA visits, and active involvement in an Estyn Inspection.
