The Job Coach will provide personalised, end‑to‑end support to participants on the Jobs Guarantee Programme, guiding individuals from referral through to sustained employment. The role focuses on coaching participants to overcome barriers to employment, develop employability skills, secure suitable job opportunities, and sustain employment outcomes.
Your Impact
- Responsible for achieving contractual targets relating to job outcomes, sustained employment and participant engagement through the following activity.
- Support participants across all stages of the Jobs Guarantee delivery model and providing clear information about the programme and expectations.
- Responsible for making initial contact with referred participants and conduct warm handovers within required timescales.
- Conduct participant induction sessions and complete vocational profiling.
- Complete initial assessments to identify employability barriers, strengths and aspirations.
- Responsible for developing and agree a personalised Employment Action Plan (EAP).
- Deliver tailored coaching sessions addressing individual participant needs.
- Provide support in areas such as but not limited to, confidence building, job search techniques, CV development, interview preparation, workplace behaviours and expectation, financial awareness and travel planning.
- Coordinate interview arrangements and gather feedback from employers.
- Maintain in regular contact with participants during the early stages of employment.
- Support participants in resolving workplace challenges and maintaining employment.
- Capture feedback and identify progression opportunities where appropriate.
- Responsible for ensuring sustained employment outcomes are achieved and recorded.
Essential Qualifications
- Experience supporting unemployed individuals or disadvantaged groups.
- Experience working in a target-driven environment.
- Experience delivering coaching, mentoring or employability support.
- Full driving licence with use of own vehicle.
- Strong coaching and motivational skills.
- Knowledge of barriers to employment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage a caseload of participants.
