About the role

To provide end to end structured support and guidance to all Learners, ensuring the attainment of positive sustained outcomes by providing a variety of interventions throughout their journey on JGW+.

Your Impact

  • Responsible for the pastoral care and wellbeing support of all learners.
  • Accountable for effective management of a caseload of learners.
  • Actively taking part in frequent caseload reviews to discuss all learners with line manager.
  • Responsible for the identification of learner personal support needs.
  • Responsible for being point of contact for all safeguarding issues, updating My Concern in a timely manner, making external safeguarding referrals as required and complying with the Company’s safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for maintaining and growing the relationship with Careers Wales (CW) to support referrals on to traineeship programmes.
  • Responsible for conducting learner interviews and inductions including, meeting and greeting all learners, completing and checking all relevant documentation, delivering structured induction session and making sure all learners have a clear understanding of the provision and programme.
  • Accountable for reviewing all relevant paperwork identifying any additional learning needs, for example childcare, 1-2-1, counselling and notify relevant departments, ensuring accurate records are recorded within the learner file.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience of working with vulnerable learners.
  • Experience of working with unemployed young people.
  • Learning Coach L4 Qualification or willing to work towards.
  • Safeguarding and Prevent experience.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage with young learners to motivate and inspire them to overcome barriers and achieve goals.

Desirable

  • Social work or youth worker experience or qualifications.
  • IAG Qualification level 3 as a minimum or working towards.
  • Full clean driving license with use of vehicle.
