The Role
We’re looking for a Lead Cyber Essentials Plus Assessor to take ownership of our Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus delivery within the wider Cyber Security team at ITCS. This role combines hands‑on technical assessment work with process improvement, quality assurance, and mentorship responsibilities. You’ll work closely with customers across a wide range of environments, helping them improve their security posture while ensuring assessments are delivered to a consistently high standard. Alongside conducting assessments you’ll play a key role in shaping how ITCS delivers Cyber Essentials services as we continue to grow our Cyber Security department.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Delivering remote and on‑site Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus assessments
- Running vulnerability scans and helping customers understand remediation requirements
- Translating technical findings into clear, practical guidance for non‑technical customers
- Working closely with our Support Department to prioritise and complete remediation work for customers who also have IT Support with ITCS.
- Acting as a final quality checkpoint for certification submissions
- Helping standardise and improve how ITCS delivers CE and CE+ services
- Supporting and mentoring other assessors within the Cyber Security team
- Contributing to wider Cyber Security initiatives, projects, and customer engagements where required

- Has strong experience delivering Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus assessments

- Can confidently explain technical risks and remediation steps in plain English
- Is organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple assessments at once
- Enjoys improving processes and helping shape how services are delivered
- Has a collaborative mindset and works well with both technical and non‑technical teams
- Wants to play a key role in the continued growth of a Cyber Security department
Requirements of the Lead CE+ Assessor Role
- 3+ years’ experience delivering Cyber Essentials and/or Cyber Essentials Plus assessments
- Strong understanding of vulnerability management and remediation processes
- Experience working within Cyber Security, Information Security, compliance, or technical environments
- Confident communicating technical findings to both technical and non‑technical customers
- Customer‑focused mindset with strong organisation and communication skills
- One or more of the following certifications required: CREST Registered Penetration Tester, CREST Certified Infrastructure Tester, Cyber Scheme Team Member (CSTM), EC-Council Certified Security Analyst (ECSA), Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP)
