This role offers an exciting opportunity for a Bookkeeper to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for a dynamic organisation operating across multiple jurisdictions.
The position is permanent and part-time, requiring approximately 25 - 30 hours of work per week.
The successful candidate will report to the Senior Accountant and work closely with the Head of Operations to ensure financial records are comprehensive, precise, and well-controlled.
This hands‑on role is ideal for a highly organised individual, possessing strong attention to detail and experience in a regulated or professional services environment.
Key responsibilities will include processing payments, managing accounts payable and receivable, and supporting month‑end and year‑end financial activities.
The Bookkeeper will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements while contributing to process improvements within the finance function.
Job Duties
- Process payments and ensure authorisation in line with internal procedures.
- Maintain day-to-day records, ledgers, and supporting schedules.
- Complete bank reconciliations and maintain audit‑ready documentation.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and invoicing.
- Support month‑end and year‑end processes, including payroll and regulatory reporting.
- Maintain and update finance systems and related policies/procedures.
- Ensure work complies with internal policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Follow payment authorisation procedures to maintain appropriate segregation of duties.
- Support audits by providing timely, accurate information.
- Maintain business and billing trackers, ensuring systems are up to date.
- Respond to finance‑related queries and liaise with internal teams and suppliers.
- Support ad hoc reporting and process improvements as needed.
- Provide operational support on non‑chargeable matters.
Job Requirements
- Proven experience in a bookkeeping or finance administration role.
- Experience within a professional services or regulated environment is desirable.
- Relevant bookkeeping or accounting qualification (or currently working towards) would be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of double‑entry bookkeeping principles.
- Proficient in accounting software (e. g. Xero, Quick Books or similar).
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
- Professional and discreet, demonstrating a strong sense of integrity.
- Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with others.
- Proactive, methodical, and solutions‑focused approach.
- Flexible and willing to support the wider Operations team when required.
