Itchen Sixth Form College is an ambitious, inclusive and high-achieving college with a reputation for excellence. We are seeking a friendly, enthusiastic and customer-focused Hospitality Assistant to join our busy Hospitality team. This role is for 12 hours per week working 10am - 2pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, for 32 weeks per year. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering excellent customer service.

About the Role

As a Hospitality Assistant, you will support the day-to-day operation of the College's catering and retail services. Your duties will include:

  • Serving customers and providing excellent customer service
  • Preparing and presenting food to a high standard
  • Operating tills and handling cash transactions
  • Maintaining clean, attractive displays and merchandising stock
  • Receiving and storing deliveries
  • Supporting stock control and ordering processes
  • Filling and maintaining vending machines
  • Ensuring high standards of hygiene, health and safety
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to provide an excellent service to students, staff and visitors
  • Occasional evening and weekend work to support special events

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Good standard of literacy and numeracy
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or willingness to obtain within the probationary period
  • Experience of working in a customer service environment
