Are you passionate about teaching and empowering adult learners? Itchen College is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Adult and Community Tutor to join our team. You will deliver high-quality education across a variety of adult and community courses, helping learners across Hampshire reach their full potential through innovative and engaging teaching.

You will be responsible for providing high quality teaching, instruction, and assessment to learners of all levels. You will prepare and deliver course materials designed to inspire and motivate students, encourage independent learning, and ensure that all learners have a safe, supportive, and inclusive educational experience. We are looking for someone who is passionate about education and committed to supporting learners from all walks of life. You will need strong organisational and communication skills, and the ability to motivate students to achieve their personal best.

Salary and Hours

  • Salary: Casual claim, Spine Point 3 Β£28.97 p/h + Β£3.50 holiday allowance
  • Hours: Casual claim, to be agreed

Travel and Requirements: If successful you would need to travel to Basingstoke and surrounding areas with a full valid UK driving license essential.

About the College: Itchen College is a thriving Sixth Form College with a broad curriculum offer to meet the needs of the local community. Key Responsibilities:

  • To deliver high quality community courses, particularly cooking courses to adults, adults and children and those with additional needs, in schools and community venues across Hampshire.
  • Tutoring groups of adults / adults and children at all levels, using a variety of relevant methods and approaches to enable and support learning across the range of community courses offered, including cooking.
  • Undertaking the completion of class registers and other administrative tasks, ensuring absences and lateness are accounted for and taking appropriate action where they are not, in accordance with the procedures in the staff handbook.

Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Certificate in Education (PTLLS)
  • Proven experience in planning and delivering effective teaching and learning programs that meet the needs of adult learners.
  • Recent experience of teaching adults at various levels, preferably within community education or further education settings.
