Overview

This is a role for someone who has put in the hours on social, and it shows.

You're not still figuring out how platforms work.

You know.

You've developed enough strategies, briefed enough creatives and sat in enough client rooms to have real conviction about what works and why.

That depth of expertise is exactly what ITCH and our clients need.

As Senior Social Strategist, you'll sit within our Creative & Strategy team, working directly with the Head of Creative & Strategy to shape how our clients show up on social across some of the world's most recognised brands.

You should know all the platforms like the back of your hand - know how the algorithm works, stay ahead of how they're moving with AI and know how to build results‑based organic strategies with creative that cuts through and content that delivers genuine engagement (and understand how paid works to support).

Our clients (across financial services, professional services and premium consumer) are increasingly asking for genuine platform expertise, not generalist thinking.

They want someone who can walk into the room and own the conversation.

That's you.

This isn't a pure strategy role, and it isn't a pure execution role.

It's both.

You'll develop the thinking and get close enough to the work to make sure it lands.

You can write a channel strategy one day and brief a creator the next.

You understand the difference between content that performs and content that means something — and you know how to make the case for both.

You're culturally switched on in a way that goes beyond following the right accounts.

You have a point of view.

You know what's happening on the platform before it becomes a trend piece in Marketing Week, and you know how to translate that intelligence into strategic frameworks a creative team can actually work from.

You're joining a team with real creative ambition and no management responsibility on day one, but as the function scales, the expectation is that this role grows with it.

If you want a place to deepen your expertise and start developing your own leadership voice, this is it.

  • Key Skills
  • 4–6 years' experience in a social strategy or content strategy role, ideally within a creative or content agency — with a portfolio that demonstrates genuine expertise, not just breadth
  • Deep working knowledge of the major social platforms — Instagram, Linked In, Tik Tok, You Tube — including how they're evolving and what that means for brands
  • Proven experience developing channel strategies, audience strategies or content frameworks from scratch, not just responding to briefs
  • Comfortable working across both B2C and B2B — ideally with some exposure to financial services, professional services or premium consumer brands
  • A confident, authoritative presenter — able to walk into a senior client environment and be the expert in the room
  • Strong written skills across copy, strategy documents and pitch decks
  • Data literate — comfortable pulling platform analytics and using them to drive recommendations, not just report on them
  • Familiar with AI tools as part of a research and strategy workflow
  • Able to embody ITCH values: collaborative, driven, creative, human and follow the ITCH Code

Responsibilities

  • Develop social strategies across organic and paid channels for a range of B2C and B2B clients — from audience and platform strategy through to content pillars and channel‑specific frameworks
  • Lead discovery and insight work: getting under the skin of a client's brand, audience and competitive landscape to build strategies grounded in real intelligence
  • Own the strategic narrative on social briefs — bringing the expert point of view that makes the creative inevitable
  • Use data and platform analytics to interrogate what's working, identify opportunities and sharpen briefs
  • Use AI tools to accelerate research, audience analysis and strategic synthesis — combining data with cultural intelligence to stay ahead of the brief
  • Be the team's authority on platform developments, algorithm changes and emerging formats — proactively bringing insight that shapes how we work and what we recommend
  • Translate strategy into clear, inspiring creative briefs that give the creative team a strong foundation to work from
  • Stay close to the work as it moves through production — ensuring what gets made reflects what was sold
  • Write copy for social content where needed — from captions and scripts to longer‑form platform content
  • Collaborate with filmmakers, editors and designers to ensure social content is built for platform from the start, not adapted after the fact
  • Contribute to pitch decks and proactive proposals, bringing authoritative social thinking to life in a way that excites and reassures clients
  • Client & Commercial Responsibilities
  • Present strategic recommendations with the confidence and clarity of someone who has done this before — able to hold the room, handle pushback and give clients the reassurance that comes from genuine expertise
  • Build strong day‑to‑day relationships with client contacts, becoming their go‑to voice on social
  • Identify opportunities to expand social remits within existing accounts and feed these back through the Client Partner team
  • Develop a solid understanding of how social work is scoped and costed, contributing to commercial conversations where relevant

Benefits

  • The chance to help shape the next phase of growth at ITCH
  • Daily collaboration with senior leaders who will value your input and support your progression
  • Room to experiment, learn, and build smarter systems and better outreach
  • Team socials and an annual summer event
  • A salary that reflects your experience and impact
  • Yearly pay review and potential for up to 18% annual bonus (based on business and personal performance)
  • Health Insurance
  • Yearly training budget and development days
  • Annual Bonus Scheme
  • Christmas Closure (no emails or meetings over the festive period)
  • New Business Incentive – reward for turning leads into wins
  • Opportunity to give back to a cause that matters (annual charity day)
  • Referral Bonus
