A very well-established, privately owned, multi-disciplined Building Consultancy, with an enviable culture and very low staff turn-over. Due to their continued strong pipeline of work, primarily from long-term clients, they are now keen to secure an ambitious Project Manager / Employers Agent. Working across a range of sectors with retail being their speciality. The HQ is based in Kent and they offer flexible / hybrid working.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Project Manager / Employer’s Agent, preferably within the retail sector.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of retail refurbishment projects, with experience in food retail projects being highly desirable. However, experience as a PM/EA or similar role in other construction sectors will also be considered.
- Qualifications: Ideally Degree or equivalent qualification in Construction Management, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline. However, relevant experience will also be considered.
- Project Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple refurbishment projects concurrently. Strong understanding of project lifecycle, from feasibility to completion. Experience in managing budgets, schedules, and risks. Competence in administering building contracts (JCT preferred).
- Client and Stakeholder Management: Ability to act as Employer’s Agent, ensuring the client’s requirements are met. Experience in liaising with retail clients, contractors, consultants, and local authorities. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asta Powerproject) and Microsoft Office Suite. Understanding of Health & Safety and CDM regulations.
- Personal Attributes: Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Strong organisational and time management skills. Adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced retail refurbishment environment. Ability to travel to project sites as required.
Desirable Requirements:
- Food Retail Experience: Prior experience working on food retail refurbishment projects.
- Contract Administration: Experience in administering JCT Design & Build contracts.
Other Considerations:
- Must have a valid UK driving licence and be willing to travel across project sites.
- Must have the right to work in the UK.
