Floor Manager

Floor Manager. Italian restaurant — Belsize Park, London

£19 per hour · 45 hours per week · Full-time, permanent.

We're a premium Italian restaurant that's been open two years. The systems work, the bookings are steady and a good part of the room is made up of regulars who know the team by name. We're not looking for someone to fix a broken operation. We're looking for someone to run a good one properly, and to keep raising the standard.

The role

You'll run the floor. That means:

• Leading service across busy à la carte shifts, from the first cover to the last.




• Managing and developing the front of house team on shift — briefing them, setting the pace, holding the standard.




• Owning the guest experience, from the welcome at the door to the goodbye.




• Running bookings, covers and table flow on OpenTable.




• Working closely with the kitchen so the pass and the floor stay in step through the rush.




• Handling feedback and sorting problems while the guest is still in the building.

What we need from you

• At least 5 years' proven floor experience in à la carte restaurants.




• Real knowledge of Italian food — you can talk a guest through the menu, recommend with confidence and answer properly when they ask.




• Confident on OpenTable — you can manage the book, not just open it.




• Tested on busy services — you stay calm, you make decisions quickly and you keep the room moving when it's full.




• Genuine team management — you lead a section of people on shift, you don't just work alongside them.




• The right to live and work in the UK.




• Availability to work full-time, following the weekly rota.




• Excellent spoken English and comprehension — you'll be leading a team and looking after guests throughout service.

What we offer

• £19 per hour, 45 hours per week — around £44,400 a year.




• 2 days off every week, on a rota agreed in advance.




• 28 days paid holiday a year, including bank holidays.




• Monthly payslip, paid on time, every time.




• Shared tips on top of your hourly rate.




• Two years of established systems, a settled team and a stable clientele — you'll spend your time managing, not firefighting.
