The Team
This role sits with our Inclusive Growth and Climate Change (IGCC) practice, which recognises that the threats posed by climate change are global and have the potential to reverse hard‑fought development gains. Our Inclusive Growth and Climate Change team is recognised as a global leader in providing monitoring, evaluation, learning, strategy advice, and services to a diverse range of clients. Our support encompasses a range of economic development and climate change/ nature projects, these include areas such as; climate adaptation and resilience, natural resource management, nature‑based solutions, oceans/ coastal adaptation, climate finance, impact investing and innovative finance, markets systems development, agriculture, private sector development, social business and supply chains, financial inclusion, infrastructure and cities and women’s economic empowerment.
The Role
As a Project Officer at Itad you will work within IGCC and hold responsibility for the co‑ordination and delivery of project administration and commercial processes for a portfolio of allocated projects. Working alongside Project Managers, you will have close involvement in project communications with internal and external team members. The Project Officer is responsible for the effective delivery of projects to a wide range of clients as allocated from the Itad portfolio. The role requires adaptability and collaboration with other specialist teams within Itad. The ability to undertake and prioritise a wide range of tasks, along with a strong commercial focus and efficient operational delivery are key aspects of the role. It’s a key role in the business providing day to day continuity across the Practice working closely with the Commercial Practice Manager, Senior Project Officers and other Project Officers.
There are three key areas of responsibility:
- Project Delivery
Facilitation and support to Project Managers in the delivery of a project portfolio, focusing on:
- Coordinating key activities throughout the project lifecycle, from bid win to close.
- Leading regular progress meetings with Project Managers and tracking follow‑up actions.
- Supporting discussions on project risks and mitigation.
- Liaising with Itad’s Global Safety & Security Team on travel, security and safeguarding needs.
- Helping maintain and update workplans with Project Managers and project teams.
- Working with Itad’s Supplier Management and Procurement team to ensure client contracts and supplier agreements are in place and updated as needed.
- Leading the preparation and issuance of sales invoices.
- Documentation management.
- Regularly reviewing and updating project information in Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Assisting Project Managers with forecasting, monitoring spend against budget and tracking invoicing milestones.
- Ensure Itad’s policies and governance practices are followed, advising Project Managers on this.
- Contributing to the commercial performance of projects, including monitoring gross profit and spend.
- Acting as the first point of contact for your project portfolio to support smooth delivery and clear communication.
- Manage a wide portfolio of projects and organise and prioritise tasks.
- Working flexibly and creatively to help meet client expectations, especially when responding to unique, complex or time‑sensitive requirements.
- Commercial Systems and Processes
Provide essential support to the financial and commercial processes that underpin the delivery of the practice portfolio, namely:
- Working alongside Itad’s Finance Team to deliver the monthly and quarterly project finance cycles. Plus Itad’s financial year‑end cycle.
- Ensuring that Microsoft Dynamics 365 is accurate and information is available across the company (including senior management and Board).
- Delivering a range of financial reports for Itad’s.
- As required, co‑ordinating client financial audits of Itad projects.
- Supporting the delivery of Itad’s company profitability strategy.
- Building the Practice
Work collaboratively to enhance, grow, and continuously improve IGCC:
- Assist with business improvement tasks and help identify opportunities to enhance processes.
- Help identify and share areas where commercial performance can be improved at a practice level.
- Support Business Development efforts to win and deliver high‑impact projects.
- Support Business Development team on reporting within Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Support commercial objectives and the commercial strategy.
- Contribute to team meetings.
- Help support continuous improvement of processes.
- Be an active team player, sharing feedback and helping to build an inclusive and learning focused culture through everyday contributions.

Location and Remote Working
