The team
Itad’s Business Development team works across the organisation to help us identify opportunities, build client relationships and develop strong, competitive proposals. The team plays an important role in translating technical expertise into high-quality bids that reflect our values and support Itad’s continued growth and impact.
The role
As Business Development Officer, you will play a central role in helping Itad win and deliver high-quality work. You will support opportunity tracking, pre-positioning, bid development and proposal submission across a range of clients, while working closely with technical teams and external partners. This role is well suited to someone who is organised, commercially minded and motivated by contributing to meaningful global impact.
The role includes the following key areas of focus:
- Support the identification, qualification and tracking of new business opportunities.
- Coordinate bid and proposal development processes from opportunity assessment through to submission.
- Draft and compile high-quality proposal content in collaboration with technical teams.
- Maintain accurate pipeline, client and opportunity records and contribute to reporting.
- Support pre-positioning activity with priority clients and partners.
- Contribute to account planning and market analysis for strategic clients.
- Help strengthen Itad’s business development systems, processes and ways of working.
Candidate requirements
Essential
- Experience in business development, bid coordination, proposal support or a related role
- Strong written communication and attention to detail
- Ability to coordinate multiple deadlines and stakeholders
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Confidence working with internal colleagues and external partners
- Good judgment and ability to work in a structured, process-driven way
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable
- Experience in consulting, international development, research, or professional services
- Experience supporting bids for bilateral, multilateral or philanthropic funders
- Familiarity with CRM/pipeline management tools
- Experience preparing financial and/or commercial proposal elements
