We do this by providing expert monitoring, evaluation, learning and strategy services that help organisations create positive lasting social, economic and environmental change. In all our work we are committed to equity, inclusiveness and technical excellence to meet the highest professional and ethical standards.

Team Overview

Itad’s Business Development team is a cross-cutting unit that takes a lead on the identification and capture of opportunities, the development and implementation of business development best practice and the support of Itad practices in the development and submission of technical and financial bids to our clients.

The role

This is a key role supporting the business development team and general business development practices and systems across Itad. The Business Development Administrator role is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in business development or international development more generally.

The role includes the following key responsibilities:

  • Bid support: You will contribute to bids led by other colleagues as required. Your contributions will range from due diligence and administrative queries, CV formatting, team searches and producing tailored project references.
  • Business Development processes: Contribute to maintaining and developing Business Development processes and systems.
  • Lead identification and research: You will have ownership of identifying new bidding opportunities weekly. You will provide ad-hoc research support to Itad’s Practices to identify and position future business opportunities, identify appropriate organisations to build partnerships with and support Itad’s account management.
  • Business development support to Itad’s Practices: You will provide general support to Itad’s Practices on business development and commercial matters.
  • Framework coordination: Support framework management by maintaining up-to-date records of framework agreements, tracking call-down opportunities, and coordinating with consortium members.
  • Manage and maintain the Dynamics ATS CV database: Ensuring candidate profiles are accurately recorded, regularly updated, and easily accessible for proposal development and recruitment coordination.
  • Account management: Coordination of Account Management meetings and support follow-up on action points.

The Candidate

You are a confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills, able to manage your time effectively and flag issues or queries to the wider team when needed. You have experience in working to moveable deadlines so can balance a varied workload with competing priorities, maintaining exceptional attention to detail throughout. Relationship-building comes naturally to you, and you enjoy working with colleagues at all levels of the business. You take a proactive approach to your work, identifying opportunities to improve processes and introduce new, efficient ways of working. Ideally, you will have experience in a bidding team but this isn’t essential.

We particularly welcome candidates with experience using CMS or ATS platforms, especially those skilled in maintaining accurate records, supporting workflow processes, and coordinating information across teams. We’re also looking for someone who has worked within a dynamic sales environment or a new business team and is confident managing records and updating CRM systems.

Benefits

  • A matched company pension up to 5% with a wide range of fund options.
  • 26 days holiday per year, plus 3 flexible days and the option to purchase another 5 days, flexible bank holidays (you can take these whenever you wish) and the opportunity to buy holiday.
  • Hybrid and flexible working from anywhere in the UK.
  • Cycle to work scheme.
  • Itad Rewards: Offers up to 20% discount at over 100 UK retailers. There are savings on gym memberships, holidays, restaurants, cinemas, and an average of 5% discount on supermarkets.
  • Discretionary bonus scheme.

If you’re enthusiastic about this opportunity but your experience doesn’t align perfectly with every requirement, we encourage you to apply anyway and demonstrate how your experience is transferable. You may be just the right candidate.

We are committed to equality and inclusion to empower people both within our organisation and through our work. We know that employees with diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences make us a more effective and innovative company and we therefore welcome and encourage applications from interested candidates regardless of age, sex, gender identity, disability, sexual orientation, race, religion, or belief.

We are not able to support a work permit for this role so candidates must already hold the right to live and work in the UK independently. Please note, we will be interviewing candidates on a rolling basis, early applications are encouraged.
