Strategic Operations Manager, Analytics and Business Intelligence

Birmingham , AL - Onsite

Job ID: 37892

Posted: 2026-10-29

Employment Type: Direct Hire

Our client, a large, high-growth organization, is looking for a Strategic Operations Manager to take over a running business line and create the next wave of programs behind it. You’ll be accountable for results, steer the direction, and grow a team of emerging talent. The right person started in an analytical seat, grew into leading people, and has already taken something from an idea to a working operation. If open-ended problems energize you and you want your name on the outcome, this one’s for you.

C2C is not an option with this job opening and all applicants should be able to work for any US Employer without sponsorship. Sponsorship is not provided and this person will not need to require sponsorship in the future.

Benefits & Extras

  • Real ownership of a budget and a business line from day one
  • Rare chance to start new programs from scratch and scale them
  • Regular face time with senior executives and frontline leaders
  • Freedom to set the standards and playbooks others will follow
  • Develop a bench of early-career talent, including people who manage others
  • Work alongside many corporate functions on complex, high-profile launches

Compensation: $140-160K based on experience

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Steer the financial performance of a live business line, from staffing costs and margins to efficiency goals and outside spend
  • Create the systems your teams run on: documented processes, performance metrics, quality checks, and automation
  • Lead a sizable group of early-career employees, including managers who oversee their own people
  • Set the roadmap for your programs and get them ready to scale
  • Find operational weak spots and work with field and operations leaders to fix them
  • Turn data into clear strategy documents and polished executive presentations
  • Oversee outside partners and vendors, from contract terms to sponsorship value and return tracking

What You’ll Need to be Considered

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • 5-8 years in operations, program or product management, strategy, or general management
  • 2-5 years leading managers or large teams of early-career employees
  • Track record launching or scaling a program or business line with accountability for budget, margin, or P&L
  • Analytical roots, ideally starting in BI, FP&A, operations, or strategy
  • Advanced Excel modeling and strong Power BI fluency, with some build ability
  • Skilled writer and presenter who can run sharp meetings with executives and field teams
  • Able to juggle multiple workstreams and cross-functional partners with strong project discipline
  • Able to work fully onsite in Birmingham, AL
  • Background in multi-site services, marketplaces, or high-growth companies (preferred)
  • Startup, early-employee, or founder experience (preferred)
  • Comfort using AI tools for analysis and presentations (preferred)
  • MBA or other graduate degree (preferred)
