What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing and optimizing gradient boosting ML models (XGBoost, LightGBM, CatBoost)
- Delivering high-accuracy financial and operational forecasts
- Engineering and tuning robust, interpretable models with open-source tools
- Using internal + external datasets, including macroeconomic indicators
- Translating insights via Power BI/Tableau dashboards and stakeholder presentations
- Collaborating closely with finance, ops, and analytics leaders
- Applying modeling best practices like version control and performance testing
What You’ll Need to be Considered
- Must be local to Birmingham
- Demonstrated expertise with gradient boosting frameworks (XGBoost, LightGBM, etc.)
- Strong experience forecasting KPIs like sales trends, AR, and working capital
- Comfort building from scratch using open-source ML tools and Python or R
- Ability to translate complex models into actionable insight
- Exposure to data visualization tools (Power BI preferred)
