We value teamwork, flexibility, and a can‑do attitude as we build our company and products together.

The opportunity

We’re looking for a practical, reliable, and enthusiastic Assistant Technical Officer to join our small technical team. Your main responsibility will be supporting the installation of our hardware on buses, with occasional light assembly work at our premises. No prior experience is required — training and on‑the‑job support will be provided. Key responsibilities

  • Support light assembly and preparation of hardware in our workshop
  • Installation of required programming on equipment
  • Follow clear instructions and procedures for safe, accurate work
  • Maintain a strong focus on accuracy and high standards of occupational health and safety at all times
  • Assist with hardware installation on clients’ buses and coaches (wiring, brackets, equipment fitting and testing)
  • Travel with teammates to customer sites (occasional overnight stays)
  • Assist with customer support and troubleshooting when needed
  • A good level of spoken and written English (for following instructions and team communication)
  • Outgoing, proactive attitude— you’ll be working on‑site and as part of a small team
  • Interest in electronics, mechanical work, or transport systems
  • Practical, hands‑on mindset with attention to detail
  • Willingness to travel over the UK and work occasional overtime

Desirable but not essential

  • Level 2 qualifications (or equivalent) in relevant fields such as electrical installation, engineering, mechanical engineering, or vehicle maintenance are preferred
  • We also welcome candidates with qualification and experience in software development and engineering
  • Experience or a strong interest in electronics, mechanics, or transport systems
  • Full UK driving licence (or an exchangeable licence)

What We Offer

  • On‑the‑job training and clear procedures
  • Friendly, supportive team environment in a growing start‑up
  • Opportunities for future progression into product development, engineering, or software roles
  • Help finding accommodation for candidates relocating
  • £24,900 p.a. during probation (approx. £12.77 per hour)
  • £27,500 p.a. after successful 3‑month probation (approx. £14.10 per hour)
  • Overtime opportunities (with overtime payment or days off in lieu)
  • Travel expenses covered when working off‑site
