Our client is seeking an experienced Interim IT Manager to join their business on an urgent contract basis. This is a hands-on role focused on stabilising and taking ownership of an existing IT environment following an unexpected gap in internal IT leadership.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing the current infrastructure, recovering operational control where required, resolving outstanding issues, and establishing a reliable IT foundation for the business moving forward. This is an excellent opportunity for a broad-skilled IT professional who enjoys working across infrastructure, support, systems administration, and business-critical technology environments.

Contract Details

  • Initial contract length: Approximately 3 months
  • Potential for extension or early completion depending on business requirements
  • Outside IR35 status to be confirmed
  • On-site role, 5 days per week preferred - Hampshire
  • 4-day on-site arrangement may be considered for the right candidate
  • Immediate start required

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and document the current IT landscape
  • Restore operational control across business-critical systems and infrastructure
  • Recover and manage system access, permissions, passwords, and administrative accounts
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, server, networking, and end-user support issues
  • Provide hands-on support across hardware, software, printers, cabling, and connectivity
  • Manage relationships with external IT support providers and vendors
  • Ensure business continuity across key operational systems
  • Identify risks, prioritise remediation activities, and implement improvements
  • Provide recommendations for future IT strategy and longer-term support requirements

Required Experience

  • Proven experience in an IT Manager, Infrastructure Manager, or Senior IT Support capacity
  • Strong Microsoft technology background, including:
    • Microsoft Office
    • Microsoft Exchange
    • Windows Server environments
    • Active Directory
    • Microsoft 365 administration
  • Experience supporting both infrastructure and end-user environments
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership in a recovery or stabilisation scenario
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable operating in a broad and varied IT environment

Desirable Experience

  • Exposure to any of the following technologies or systems would be beneficial:
    • AnyDesk
    • Sage 200
    • HubSpot
    • CAD design applications
    • CCTV and access control systems
    • Excel-heavy business environments
    • General server, desktop, and network support
