We are seeking an experienced Head of IT to lead and evolve the organisation’s technology landscape, with particular ownership of our IFS ERP platform and wider business systems. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role responsible for IT operations, ERP strategy, digital transformation, security, and service delivery across the business. You will align IT with commercial objectives, drive system optimisation, and lead a high-performing IT function that supports growth, efficiency, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and deliver the organisation’s IT strategy aligned with business goals
  • Act as the senior IT leader and trusted advisor to executive stakeholders
  • Lead IT governance, architecture direction, and technology roadmaps
  • Manage IT budgets, forecasting, and vendor partnerships
  • Build, mentor, and lead internal IT and applications teams
  • IFS ERP & Business Systems Ownership
  • Own the strategic direction, performance, and roadmap of the IFS ERP platform
  • Ensure effective ERP support, optimisation, and continuous improvement
  • Oversee upgrades, enhancements, integrations, and module expansions
  • Partner with functional leaders to ensure ERP supports core business processes
  • Drive ERP best practice, data integrity, and adoption across the organisation
  • Operations & Service Delivery
  • Ensure reliable IT operations and infrastructure performance
  • Oversee service management, SLAs, and support models
  • Improve ITIL-aligned service processes where appropriate
  • Manage third-party providers and managed services
  • Security & Risk
  • Own IT security, compliance, and risk management frameworks
  • Ensure appropriate controls, policies, and disaster recovery capabilities
  • Lead cyber security posture and business continuity planning
  • Change & Transformation
  • Lead digital and systems transformation initiatives
  • Drive automation and process efficiency through technology
  • Sponsor major IT and ERP change programmes
  • Manage organisational change and stakeholder engagement

Required Experience

  • Proven experience in a Head of IT / IT Director / Senior IT Leadership role
  • Strong experience managing IT within an IFS ERP environment (IFS Cloud / Apps 10 / Apps 9)
  • Track record of owning ERP strategy, delivery, and optimisation
  • Experience leading cross-functional IT and applications teams
  • Experience managing IT vendors, ERP partners, and service providers
  • Demonstrated success delivering IT transformation or ERP programmes
  • Strong budget and commercial management experience

Technical & Functional Knowledge

  • Deep understanding of IFS ERP architecture and ecosystem
  • ERP governance, change control, and release management
  • Systems integration and data architecture principles
  • Infrastructure and cloud platform knowledge
  • IT security and compliance frameworks
  • Service delivery and support model design

Leadership & Soft Skills

  • Strong communication and decision-making skills
  • Commercially aware and outcome-driven
  • Able to bridge business and technology priorities
  • Change leadership and organisational influence

Desirable (Nice to Have)

  • Experience with IFS Cloud transformation programmes
  • Industry experience in manufacturing, engineering, energy, or asset-intensive sectors
  • ITIL, security, or enterprise architecture certifications
  • Experience leading multi-site or international IT operations
