To support the Product Management function by working closely with the commercial, development, regulatory and support teams, developing product and domain expertise and supporting Product Managers. This person will assist with product lifecycle activities, requirements definition, documentation, and stakeholder engagement, with support from Product Managers. They will progressively take ownership of defined workstreams (e.g., features, backlog items, documentation) while developing their knowledge of regulated healthcare software products, laboratory workflows, and partner environments.
Principal Accountabilities
- Support the commercial team
- Support the commercial team during tender and sales processes by helping prepare product information, documentation and supporting materials.
- Assist with product demonstrations alongside other Product Managers.
- Build professional relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders under guidance and supervision.
- Business Analysis
- Assist with business analysis activities to help understand customer and market requirements.
- Support the capture, documentation and validation of user and system requirements.
- Participate in user groups, workshops or special interest groups for BDS products as experience develops.
- Developing product & domain expertise
- Develop and maintain knowledge of assigned BDS products and customer workflows, supported by other Product Managers.
- Assist in responding to product-related enquiries, escalating complex queries where appropriate, and working collaboratively with development, testing, regulatory and support teams.
- Support interactions with business partners on B2B projects and 'end users' for our B2C products.
- Product Ownership
- Assist Product Managers in preparing documentation and artefacts required for development activities (e.g., user stories, acceptance criteria, and specifications).
- Support the development team by helping clarify requirements and acceptance criteria, and by maintaining backlog hygiene (status, priorities, dependencies) under guidance.
- Assist with reviewing defects, change requests and risk assessments, escalating where appropriate.
- Support release readiness by drafting release notes and stakeholder communications, and by helping to facilitate workshops and capture actions/decisions.
- Regulatory
- Develop an understanding of regulated healthcare software environments and applicable standards.
- Support product risk management activities under guidance.
- Assist with regulatory documentation preparation and review.
- Training
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of training materials.
- Support delivery of internal or external training sessions alongside senior team members.
- Contribute to internal product documentation and knowledge bases.
Knowledge and experience
Required
- BSc or relevant Science degree
- Interest in, or exposure to, diagnostic laboratories, companies and instrument manufacturers
- Interest in regulated Medical/Health Software and ability to learn domain concepts quickly.
- Working knowledge of software development and Agile delivery processes
- Business analysis skills

- Demonstrable experience or strong exposure to one or more of the following areas, with the ability to learn the rest quickly: Healthcare, diagnostics or laboratory workflows (interest/exposure acceptable), Working in structured or quality-managed environments (regulated experience beneficial but not essential), Gathering and documenting requirements (e.g., user needs, user stories, acceptance criteria)
- Ability to support or deliver product demonstrations and training materials to internal and external audiences.
Desirable
- Agile Certified Product Manager
- Experience working in or with regulated environments (e.g., medical devices, IVD, healthcare software)
- Direct experience in laboratory environments
- A good technical understanding of BDS product lines
