We are seeking an experienced Senior Programme Manager to lead a large-scale Electronic Patient Record (EPR) transformation programme within a leading private healthcare organisation. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the end-to-end delivery of a complex digital transformation initiative, ensuring the successful implementation and adoption of an enterprise-wide EPR platform. The successful candidate will work closely with executive stakeholders, clinical leaders, operational teams, and technology partners to deliver meaningful improvements in patient care, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision making. While experience with Epic is highly desirable, we welcome applications from candidates who have successfully delivered programmes involving other major EPR platforms such as Cerner/Oracle Health, MEDITECH, Allscripts, Nervecentre, Lorenzo, EMIS, RiO, or similar healthcare information systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of a multi-workstream EPR transformation programme from planning through to implementation and benefits realisation.
  • Develop and maintain programme governance, reporting, risk management, and stakeholder engagement frameworks.
  • Manage programme budgets, resource plans, timelines, dependencies, and third-party suppliers.
  • Work closely with clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders to ensure alignment with organisational objectives.
  • Drive organisational readiness, change management, and user adoption strategies across the business.
  • Ensure programme delivery adheres to regulatory, governance, and information security requirements.
  • Oversee programme and project managers responsible for individual workstreams including clinical systems, infrastructure, integration, training, testing, and deployment.
  • Manage vendor relationships and hold implementation partners accountable for delivery outcomes.
  • Provide regular programme updates to executive leadership, steering committees, and board-level stakeholders.
  • Establish and track programme KPIs, benefits realisation metrics, and post-implementation performance measures.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and patient-centred innovation.

Essential Experience

  • Significant experience leading large-scale healthcare digital transformation programmes.
  • Proven track record delivering EPR/EHR implementations within acute, community, private healthcare, or wider healthcare environments.
  • Experience managing complex programmes involving multiple stakeholders, suppliers, and workstreams.
  • Strong understanding of programme governance methodologies including MSP, PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent frameworks.
  • Demonstrable experience managing substantial programme budgets and senior stakeholder relationships.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Experience driving organisational change and user adoption within clinically focused environments.

Desirable Experience

  • Direct experience delivering Epic implementations or optimisation programmes.
  • Experience with other major EPR platforms including Oracle Health (Cerner), MEDITECH, Nervecentre, Allscripts, Lorenzo, EMIS, RiO, or equivalent systems.
  • Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards and system integrations.
  • Experience working within private healthcare settings.
  • Relevant programme management qualifications (MSP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, Agile certifications, PMP, or equivalent).

Personal Attributes

  • Strategic thinker with strong execution capability.
  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Resilient and adaptable in complex, fast-paced environments.
  • Highly organised with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Passionate about leveraging technology to improve patient outcomes and healthcare delivery.
