We are seeking an experienced Data Architect or Data Engineer with strong healthcare data and clinical coding knowledge to support the design, integration, and delivery of clinical data solutions across NHS and healthcare environments. The role will focus on translating clinical and coded healthcare data into robust, scalable data architectures that support EPR systems, analytics platforms, interoperability programmes, and population health initiatives.
You will work closely with clinical informaticians, data engineers, BI teams, and NHS stakeholders to ensure clinical data is structured, standardised, and usable across systems.
Key Responsibilities- Data Architecture & Engineering
- Design and implement scalable healthcare data architectures (on-prem, cloud, hybrid)
- Develop logical and physical data models for clinical and operational datasets
- Build and support data pipelines (ETL/ELT) across healthcare systems
- Support integration between EPRs, data warehouses, and analytics platforms
- Work with clinical datasets using: ICD-10, OPCS-4, SNOMED CT, LOINC
- Support mapping between clinical coding systems and analytical data models
- Translate clinical requirements into structured data definitions and models
- Work with clinical coders and informatics teams to ensure data accuracy and consistency
