We are currently seeking an experienced
Data Migration Manager to support a major NHS digital transformation programme.
The successful candidate will take ownership of the data migration workstream, managing the end-to-end migration process and working closely with technical, clinical, EPR and programme teams to ensure data is migrated accurately, securely and effectively into the target system.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and delivery of the end-to-end data migration workstream.
- Develop and maintain the data migration strategy, plan and associated documentation.
- Coordinate data extraction, cleansing, mapping, transformation and validation activities.
- Manage migration testing, mock migrations, reconciliation and cutover activities.
- Work closely with EPR, technical, data and clinical workstreams to identify and resolve migration dependencies.
- Establish appropriate data quality, validation and reconciliation processes.
- Manage migration risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies.
- Coordinate internal teams, suppliers and third-party stakeholders involved in the migration.
- Provide regular progress reporting to programme and senior stakeholders.
- Support go-live and cutover planning, ensuring migration activities are delivered within agreed timescales.
Essential Experience
- Proven experience managing large-scale data migration projects .
- Strong experience within
NHS or wider healthcare digital transformation .
- Experience supporting
EPR implementations, system replacements or major healthcare technology programmes .
- Strong understanding of data mapping, cleansing, transformation, validation and reconciliation.
- Experience managing migration testing, mock migrations and cutover.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams, dependencies and competing priorities.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience with major EPR platforms such as
Epic, Oracle Health/Cerner, MEDITECH or similar .
- Experience delivering migrations across multiple NHS Trusts or healthcare organisations.
- Experience working with complex clinical datasets and legacy systems.
- Experience managing external migration suppliers and technical delivery partners.
